What is Medicare Part D and how does it affect me?

If you are currently a Medicare recipient, some or all of your prescription drug costs could be paid for by Medicare. You should have already received information from Medicare detailing how the new program will work. Starting January 1st, 2006, your prescription drugs may be paid for by a PDP (Prescription Drug Plan). There are many plans to choose from. It is important that you choose a plan that is best for you.

Medicare's Prescription Drug Plan Finder

Medicare's Web site has a guide that will help you find a PDP. The Prescription Drug Plan Finder is a powerful tool that gives you a list of PDPs that are best for you depending on what medications you need. The tool can be found at this link: https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/questions/home.aspx.
